GIS Mapping
As a GIS Specialist, I create static and interactive maps for public entity clients. To begin, I often receive some geospatial data from clients, however, since some of the clients I work with are small towns or cities, they do not always have this data on hand. This results in either a search for open source data from counties, states, or institutions, and when that doesn’t work, I create my own shapefiles based on other resources. In my role, I also perform geospatial analysis techniques like clipping, merging, dissolving, and selections when needed.
I have created various map series for over twenty clients, and it is truly one of my favorite parts of my role! I have learned a lot regarding GIS mapping in the last three years, and I love to troubleshoot as I learn more! Below are a few examples of my static maps. Each of these maps were included in reports and deliverables for clients.
